Another Livermore Home Sold QUICKLY! – 158 Turquoise Way

Dwayne and Katy of Livermore were happy to move from their decades-old home on the South side to their shiny new retirement home elsewhere.   Their sale went smooth and they are very happy about the results of their sale.   Happy is an understatement!

I worked with Dwayne and Katy for several months to help them prepare their sale properly.  We cured repairs items, added new carpet and paint.   With an investment of $10,000 Dwayne and Katy were able to net approximately an additional $70k to $80k in net sale proceeds.  The sale was quick and for top dollar.   it couldn't have gone any smoother!

Helping owners get the most out of their homes is my passion. I have a great team of professionals to assist me in helping you!  If you are wondering how you can prepare for the same results please call me today!

Livermore Police Chief Steve Sweeney Retiring in March

Chief Sweeney is calling it a career.  The very popular Chief will step down from his post on March 29, ending a 29-year career with the Livermore Police Department.

In a statement, Livermore Mayor John Marchand said:

" The excellence of our police department is a direct reflection of Chief Sweeney's unparalleled leadership. I have been honored to work with a chief of his caliber, and Livermore is a better place because he has served our community so well.Sweeney started as a patrol officer and member of the SWAT team. He made his way through the ranks, becoming a detective, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain before becoming chief."

We know that Chief Sweeney will be missed greatly by the department and it will take time to find a suitable replacement.  He is leaving big shoes to fill and has built a great bridge between the department and the Livermore community.   We wish him well on his retirement.

Livermore named Top 5 “Hottest Neighborhoods for 2013”

It Finally Happened: Livermore, Ca named Top 5 "Hottest Neighborhoods for 2013"

We knew it was only a matter of time before some Internet slideshow finally saw the outer fringe of the Bay Area for what it's worth. Although Walnut Creek has yet to achieve any sort of recognition aside from that onemention on Parks and Recreation, the town of Livermore — California's other other wine country — has been recognized as the fifth Hottest Neighborhood in America for 2013.

In this particular Article, Business Insider borrowed data from Seattle real estate listing site Redfin.com, whichsurveyed their network of real estate agents for neighborhoods they deemed "hot" and then ranked said neighborhoods based how quickly the available properties are selling, their price-per-square-foot averages and other real estate terms only realtors care about. So already, we're raising some eyebrows at this one. But eight of the top ten neighborhoods are in California, so who cares, right? Deal with it, middle America. (Deal with it and then click through 11 pages of slideshow photos and accompanying quotes.) Also, Redfin only lists properties in 17 metro areas across the country. So: Utah-sized grain of salt here.

The real estate geniuses also ranked "Willow Glen, San Francisco" (which is actually in San Jose) as the sixth hottest neighborhood in 2013 thanks to its "central location" and "historic feel." Meanwhile, down in the Mission (which Business Insider seems to think is a peninsula town) the second-hippest neighborhood in the country is merely the ninth hottest real estate-wise, because "people are getting priced out of Noe Valley and the Castro."

Rounding out the other eight California neighborhoods on the top 10 are desirable Los Angeles spots: Highland Park (#1), Faircrest Heights (#3), Eagle Rock (#4) and Glassell Park (#7). Mira Mesa in San Diego came in at #2, while Chicago's Logan Square and Seattle's North Maple Leaf districts are the only two non-California neighborhoods that made the list. Apparently nobody wants to live in New York anymore.
